SKUP evaluation of AllTest Strep A Rapid Test
SKUP is a Scandinavian group that performs independent evaluations of the analytical performance and user-friendliness of laboratory equipment and rapid tests used for point of care testing (POCT).
The report from the SKUP evaluation of AllTest Strep A Rapid Test has now been published on our web site. It is a rapid test for detection of throat infection caused by Streptococcus pyogenes group A, and it is intended for professional use. This evaluation was performed at primary health care centres to determine the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity as well as the user-friendliness of the test in the hands of the intended users. In addition, the positive and negative predictive values were estimated. The performance specifications for diagnostic sensitivity and specificity as well as for user-friendliness were fulfilled.
The evaluation was performed in 2023 but was kept confidential upon request of the producer. However, as the test is now available in Scandinavia SKUP has published the report. The report with summaries can be found on SKUPs web site.
