SKUP evaluation of Atellica DCA Analyzer for measurement of HbA1c
SKUP is a Scandinavian group that performs independent evaluations of the analytical performance and user-friendliness of laboratory equipment and rapid tests used for point of care testing (POCT).
The report from the SKUP evaluation of Atellica DCA Analyzer with HbA1c reagent cartridges has now been published on our web site. It is a POCT system for measurements and monitoring of HbA1c and albumin/creatinine ratio and it is intended for professional use. This evaluation was performed at one hospital laboratory and two primary health care centres to determine the analytical performance of HbA1c measurements and the user-friendliness of the system in the hands of the intended users. The analytical performance specification for repeatability (CV%) was fulfilled, for both capillary and venous patient samples, at clinically relevant concentrations (39-59 mmol/mol). The analytical performance specification of accuracy was not fulfilled. The performance specification for user-friendliness was fulfilled.
