SKUP evaluation of Capitainer B microsampling card
SKUP is a Scandinavian group that performs independent evaluations of the analytical performance and user-friendliness of laboratory equipment and rapid tests used for point of care testing (POCT).
Capitainer B is a microsampling card for collection of capillary blood into sampling wells. Sample collection was performed by lay persons as well as health care personnel. The cards were sent to a laboratory where the blood was extracted and used for analytical measurements, in this case of HbA1c. The analytical performance specification was fulfilled for repeatability but not fulfilled for accuracy. The user-friendliness was rated as satisfactory.
